الإدمان هو الاستخدام المتزايد والمفرط لمادة أو شئ وعدم القدرة على التوقف عنه، وفى حال التوقف تحدث له أعراض انسحابية صعبة ومؤلمة قد تجعله يتراجع مرة آخرى.

يوجد العديد من أنواع الإدمان، ومن اخطرها ادمان المخدرات. ومن الأسباب التى قد تؤدى إلى الإدمان الشعور ببعض المشكلات النفسية والاجتماعية والأسرية وأصدقاء السوء وضعف الإرادة والوازع الدينى لدى الفرد وكذلك عدم الرقابة على الشباب وتراجع دور المؤسسات التربوية فى التوعية بالإدمان.
